With great sorrow we learned of the passing of the late Dr. Daphne Tsimhoni.
Dr. Tsimhoni has been a member of the Academic Council at the Babylonian Jewry Heritage Center since its establishment in 1977.
Dr. Tsimhoni studied in the Middle East Department at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem for BA and MA degrees, and received her PhD from Northeastern University (Boston, USA) in Middle Eastern Studies, with a specialization on minorities.
In her research on the minorities in Iraq, she dealt with the history of Iraqi Jews, especially their immigration to Israel in 1949-1951. In Israel she worked at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev and at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology.
