Bride and groom attire in a section from the Jewish Life Cycle exhibition

Curator: Idit Sharoni

The exhibition describes the central rituals in the lives of the Jews of Babylon from the late 19th century to the mid-20th century.

The changes that occurred in the life of the community are reflected in the transition from a local-traditional style saturated with Muslim influences, to the European-modern style that took its place in the first half of the 20th century.

These changes are reflected in the details of clothing, ceremonial objects, and personal items displayed in the exhibition.
